[Open Circle] Knowing Him, Knowing Me

Salam, peace and blessings to all of you.

Every creation on this earth bows down to Mighty Lord. But how connected are we to Him? Do we really know Who He is? Is He just a 'concept' that we are trained to have Faith? A far away Being so distant from us?

Some say to know us, we have to know our Creator... well, come and join us once again on another engaging open conversation with Bro Din Othman, as he shares his journey in finding these answers, finding Allah, finding himself, amazingly - through his fantastic artwork.

*Bro Din is a professional graphic designer. In fact, he's the maestro that has been designing most of the great posters for YMP in the past. MashaAllah.

Ramadhan Chit Chat Series: The Environmentally Friendly Muslim

Salam everyone!

Alhamdulillah, the support that we garnered from our Ramadhan Chit Chat Series has been amazing mashaAllah! And as you have anticipated the Series continues with yet another captivating discussion with "The Environmentally Friendly Muslim: Is there Even Such a Thing?".

We all know our duties to Allah swt. We know our duties to our family and friends and fellow humans around us. But do we know our duties to the world around us? Do we even have to take care of the environment in order to be a good Muslim? Is there any relation to the two? Or are they separate entities altogether and only reserved for activists and their agendas?

Join us for a seemingly simple issue but thought provoking in actuality. Guest speakers: Brothers Amin Rahman and Din Othman (YMP).

See you there inshaAllah!

Hadith Seminar: The Muslim Personality with Sheikh Yahya Ibrahim

***Please note this is an event that requires payment. Places are limited. Please see below on how to reserve your place***

Salam everyone!!

As Muslims we know that Islam is a way life. It's principles and teachings permeate our thoughts and actions. But in the ever changing world as we come face to face with new challenges and new frontiers, we are forced to stop ourselves and question just how we as Muslims should react to what is in front of us.

We must remember that Prophet Muhammad (saw) is our best example and his life is bursting with lessons that we can apply across time and context.

Join us as we attempt to unravel the treasures and gems of RasulAllah's sunnah in a hadith seminar entitled The Muslim Personality. Under the tutelage of Sheikh Yahya Ibrahim we hope to leave with some practical examples on how we should live our lives in relation to Allah, ourselves and others.

Sheikh Yahya training in classical Islamic knowledge started while he was in his teens. He grew up translating into English the speeches of various Arabic-speaking Islamic scholars who were visiting his native Canada. At the age of 17 he was already lecturing at mosques in Toronto. He has traveled extensively to meet and study with scholars of classical Islamic knowledge. Now Sheikh Yahya lives in Perth, with his wife and two children, where he is the Islamic Chaplain at Curtin University of Technology and the director of a Perth-wide halal food network. He was previously the Deputy Principal of the largest Islamic School in Australia.

For more on Sheikh Yahya.

FEE & RESERVATIONS: Fee per person RM 100. Please call Ridzwan at 012 475 4456 to book a spot. Places are only confirmed upon receipt of payment.

Hope to see you there inshaAllah.

Ramadhan Workshop: The Fast and the Furious with Sheikh Yahya Ibrahim

"Oh you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you many learn piety and righteousness" (Q 2:183)

Saturday, 16 July 2011, 9 AM - 2 PM
Ramadhan Workshop: The Fast and the Furious with Sheikh Yahya Ibrahim
For ages 12-18.
Masjid Saidina Umar Al-Khattab, Bukit Damansara
Fee: RM 50
Reservations: Noraini at 017 316 0307

***Please note this is an event that requires payment. Places are limited. Please see below on how to book your place***

For those 12-18 years of age.

We are well and truly on our journey to the most wonderful time of the year and Young Muslims Project brings you an event especially for teenagers.

As children we are taught the importance of Ramadhan, how we are commanded to fast, how the Qur'an was sent down. But it is sometimes difficult to transcend our obligations to turn them into acts of sincere and devoted worship.

Together with Sheikh Yahya Ibrahim let your kids (or younger brothers and sisters) delve deeper into the meaning of Ramadhan, learn how to enjoy this blessed month and manage it as they continue with their daily lives. All so that as the days count down to 1st Ramadhan we will be rushing to get to the mosque for teraweeh, getting up early for suhoor and trying our very best to reap all the Blessings and Mercy that Allah has promised us.

Sheikh Yahya training in classical Islamic knowledge started while he was in his teens. At the age of 17 he was already lecturing at mosques in his native Canada. Now Sheikh Yahya lives in Perth, with his wife and two children, where he is the Islamic Chaplain at Curtin University of Technology and the director of a Perth-wide halal food network. He was previously the Deputy Principal of the largest Islamic School in Australia and so he is one of the best speakers when it comes to interacting and dealing with teenagers.
